What are the benefits of Reflexology?

  • Relaxes and relieves tension
  • Improves circulation
  • Helps the body normalize
    itself naturally, without adverse
    side effects or drugs

The Reflexology Association of Canada defines reflexology as:

"A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the hands and feet which correspond to every part, gland and organ in the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related area of the body."

What is a treatment like?

After filling out a health history form, the client removes shoes and socks and sits or reclines during the 50 minute treatment. The lighting is subdued and relaxing music plays in the background. First, the feet are briefly washed with witch hazel and massaged gently as a warm up. Pressure is then applied to the entire foot from toes to heels and around the ankles and lower legs. A brisk massage, using lotion or oil, finishes the treatment.

How will I feel afterward?

Most people feel calm and relaxed after a treatment; others feel energized. It is not uncommon to feel sleepy or tired after a session, but this is transient. Many people report having a better night’s sleep after their session.
